According to Network Rail a power substation near Wandsworth in South London, one of the World’s busiest commuter cities, was hit by a lightning strike approximately 5.30pm local time causing heavy disruptions to two busy stations. Victoria and Waterloo stations experienced heavy delays and many cancellations. It took some commuters took upwards to 4 hours to complete their journey.
